MYGEN Church is a project I am particularly excited and passionate about. I competed against a design agency and won the contract to design the brand and later joined the leadership team as director of communications.
MYGEN Church is a brand new church plant in the Grater New York Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church specially designed for today’s young adults and youth. The drive behind MYGEN Church was a focus of creating a safe place for young adults who have difficulty fitting into traditional churches. This new church plant is in New York City, a place with one of the highest loss rates for youth in the the entire Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The strategy behind the MYGEN Church brand was simple, create a fresh brand that is attractive to the target audience while maintaining the meaning and symbolism of the core Seventh-day Adventist Church brand.
MYGEN Church also needed a fresh web site design, which I created under contract and continue to maintain as communications director.
One of the important, fun aspects of maintaining the MYGEN Church web site was creating custom cover designs for the blog posts, like those featured below.
Social Media Campaigns
As communications director I also managed our social media campaigns, which have grown at an incredible rate and gained a healthy following. Key to the success of MYGEN Church was promoting it on a daily basis across our social media platforms and driving users to our web site or church events. Below are some examples of media posts promoting events or blog posts on our web site.
